Sean Hayden has had a passion for music from a very young age. At age 8, he started with playing the piano and when he turned 10, he transitioned to playing drums and percussion. At Bogle Junior High, Sean played in both the concert band and the jazz band for 2 years. In high school, Sean spent 1 year playing in the front ensemble and 3 years playing snare with the Hamilton High School Drum line. He got his first taste of musical excellence during this time, as the Hamilton Percussion Ensemble was consistently at the top of their division.
Graduating High School in 2014, Sean pursued an associates degree in general studies at Chandler Gilbert Community College and is currently pursuing a degree in Audio Engineering and Sound Design. Sean was an inaugural member of Vision Percussion and went on to perform two seasons with the Gilbert, Arizona based group. In both of his seasons with Vision, he helped take the group to two WGAZ Percussion Independent A gold medalists as well as a WGI Western Percussion Championships victory.
Sean began his journey in teaching music during his time at Vision and has worked with groups such as Shadow Mountain High School, McClintock High School, and Dysart High School. Currently, Sean is the Caption Head of Vista Grande High School and is working with his team to build another very competitive program in Casa Grande, Arizona. He is excited to take his knowledge of, and passion for, the A class to the next level!
