Emily Dean began her marching career at the age of 16 with Williams Field High School in Gilbert, Arizona. Upon graduating a semester early, she went on to perform with Fenix Independent A Winter Guard during their inaugural season. Following her time at Fenix, Emily went on to perform with Pacific Crest, ASU Sun Devil Marching Band, and Breakthrough Indoor Percussion.
After aging-out with Breakthrough, she was invited to be the visual ensemble coordinator for the following season. In addition to her role at Breakthrough, she currently instructs the Casa Grande Union High School color guard as well as the Paradise Valley color guard. Recently, she has also spent time teaching the dance curriculum as well as choreographing for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.
Emily has recently graduated from Mesa Community College, where she studied dance. Emily hopes to help both students and instructors learn the importance of breath, body awareness, and individuality and how to apply these concepts to choreography and movement as a whole.
